World of Warcraft (WoW) has been with us for a very long time now, with players playing the game since its inception. With the latest expansion pack to the game launched in November 2022, players can now visit the Dragon Isles.
Players can now engage in dragon riding, an all-new mechanic that requires skill and allows players to take to the skies on customizable drakes, along with Dracthyr Evokers; World of Warcraft’s first-ever combination race and class.
WoW Dragonflight roadmap for 2023 detailsThroughout the year, Blizzard is planning to release six content patches, that include two major updates. These updates and patches and updates will be spaced fairly evenly.
Blizzard president Mike Ybarra said, “We’re increasing the cadence to which Warcraft updates content starting with Dragonflight”. He further added that they want a game in which there is always an adventure waiting.
Holly Longdale, the executive producer of World of Warcraft, on the official WoW blog said, “In planning out the road ahead following the release of Dragonflight, we’ve been mindful of the duty we owe our players to nurture this living world”. She further added by saying that their goal for Dragonflight is that the team should always have something to work on and that they will start working on the new content update as soon as the last one is released.
Out of the six content updates, the two major updates that are planned for next year include new zones to explore, raids, and seasonal rewards. Longdale also said that the remaining four updates will include things like world events, updates to the system, dungeon experiences, narrative chapters, and cinematics. She added by saying that these updates will give the developers more opportunities to respond to player feedback and make changes accordingly.
