Samsung officially replaces the Galaxy Note with Galaxy Ultra brand, making it the best Note series phone yet

March 01, 2022 at 04:58PM

Samsung has officially written off the Galaxy Note branding, at least it has announced the same now. This was something we all knew as even in its last few generations, the Galaxy Note phones were quite similar to the Galaxy S-series counterparts. And things became even more complicated to tell apart with the arrival of the Ultra range of phones in the scene. To top it off, the latest Galaxy S22 Ultra phone comes with a built-in S-Pen and the entire tech community started referring to it as just a Galaxy Note with the Ultra moniker. Many were wondering if Samsung will unveil a Galaxy Note handset going forward. Well, the answer is no!

Samsung must have decided to put an end to the confusion as the company’s mobile chief Roh Tae-moon has confirmed to reporters at MWC 2022 that “Galaxy Note will come out as Ultra” from now on.

However, long time Galaxy Note fans have nothing to worry about as already mentioned, the Galaxy Ultra branding has taken over the mantle. And this year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra is pretty much a Note only. Here, check out its details below:

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Specs and Features

From the get-go, the Galaxy S22 Ultra resembles a Note in its design language. The chassis is very boxy with curved edges. It comes with Gorilla Glass Victus+ at the front and the back, held together by an Armour Aluminum frame. The device looks and feels durable and can endure dust and water with IP68 resistance limits. That’s even with a proper hole in the body for the S-Pen.

This S-Pen gets all the tricks and treats of its predecessors, but what makes it better is the 2.8ms latency.

You write or interact with this on a 6.8-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1440 x 3088-pixel resolution, HDR10+ quality and 1750 nits of peak brightness.

Within its punch-hole cutout, you get a 40MP sensor with 4K@60 FPS recording. The back cameras are headlined by a 108MP leader with a 10MP 10x periscope zoom lens, a 10MP 3x zoom, and a 12MP 120° ultrawide snapper.

The underlying processor is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (in India) coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5000mAh battery with 45W charging support.
