MediaTek has launched its flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9200. The Dimensity 9200 is based on a 4nm process node and also integrates an Arm Cortex X3 with operating speeds over 3GHz. Let’s take a detailed look at this new chipset by MediaTek!
MediaTek Dimensity 9200: What’s New?The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC is based on a new 4nm process. It comes with a 1 + 3 + 4 cluster setup with one Cortex-X3 Prime Core clocked at 3.05GHz while the three performance ARM Cortex-A715 cores are clocked at 2.85GHz and the four Cortex A510 efficiency cores are clocked at 1.8GHz.
It integrates an Arm Cortex X3 with operating speeds over 3GHz and features the Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU with a hardware-based ray tracing engine. The company claims that the chipset comes with up to 30% power savings with AI-NR and 45% power savings with AI-SR in all visual applications.
The chipset comes with support for Full HD+ displays with up to 240Hz and WHQD displays with up to 144Hz and 5K (2.5Kx2) up to 60Hz, with adaptive refresh rate tech. There is even support for AI visual semantic display which optimizes picture quality with multi-person segmentation and multi-layer colour management per scene.
Last but not least, the chipset also comes with LPDDR5X with support for up to 8533Mbps memory. It can go support UFS 4.0 with Multi-Circular Queue that provides each Cortex-A510 CPU core with direct access to storage, helping boost the data transmission in multi-thread applications.
At the launch event JC Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of MediaTek’s wireless communications business unit said, “With notably brighter image capturing and improved gaming speeds, along with the latest display enhancements, the Dimensity 9200 will bring new possibilities for next-gen smartphones that come in a variety of stylish and foldable form factors.”
